Sketching Challenge

Whilst retreating at Azulfit a fellow retreater Jonas, unbeknown to him, challenged me from scratch to complete a coloured sketch in under 60 minutes.

I’d taken photos earlier of some familiar daily images.

Once I’d decided his picture should include his cabin, Soul Space, the scene and composition quickly slotted into place.

So a pencil sketch to fill the page, omitting distractions.

Colour courtesy of my fluorescent highlighters trying to be as free flowing blocking out areas quickly, not over thinking colour and what makes up other colours with a limited choice.

Finally my favourite part using different thickness black ink pens to define elements.

The hand over in the dining room. Challenge completed.
